How do I pay for my registration?

If your school pays for your registration, you can use a school order number when registering, then submit the invoice VATE sends you to your accounts department for payment. We encourage payment into our bank account electronically (EFT), but we also accept payment by cheque, BPay, credit card, as well as cash or EFTPOS payment at our office.

I registered for an event online but have not received any confirmation

Confirmation of your booking is an automatic email generated at the time of your registration. If you have not received a booking confirmation email please phone VATE as you may not be registered to attend the event, or the email may have been sent to the wrong address.  Logistical details for each event are emailed as an entry ticket to all registered delegates at least five working days before the event. If you have not received your entry ticket email within five working days of the event, please phone VATE.

I missed out on the event because my school was slow to process my application

You can register for an event with a school purchase order number or pay by personal credit card. If your attendance is subsequently not approved by the school, and your cancellation is within the period specified within the cancellation guidelines, a full refund will be given.

I am sick and unable to attend 

You can transfer your registration to another teacher or cancel your booking. Please see the booking guidelines for cancellation details.

I registered for an event but do not know where to go

Logistical details for each event are emailed to all registered delegates at least five working days before the event. If you have not received these, please phone VATE as you may not be registered to attend the event, or the email address supplied may have been incorrect.

Will there be parking available?

Parking details are emailed to delegates as part of their entry ticket before the event.  While VATE endevours to run events at venues with ample parking, sometimes there will be problems either finding a park or leaving the car park at the same time as hundreds of other delegates. It is best to allow plenty of time before and after VATE events to find a park and leave the car park, particularly at our central Melbourne events.

I missed out on a workshop but am happy to sit on the floor

We try to keep workshops to a maximum of 30 delegates. There are also health and safety requirements that must be met when hiring venues for events. If an event or workshop is booked out we are unable to take any further bookings. Note that delegates are able to amend and/or cancel their bookings online so do check the website often to see if any spaces become available over the registration period.

can i change my booking on the day of the event?

Unfortunately we are unable to accept changes on the day of the event. Changes can be made leading up to the event via the My Workshops link on the Events Registration Page.

I registered for an event that has been cancelled

Unfortunately if there is only a small number of registrations for a professional learning event VATE may have to cancel the session.  If you registered for the session you will be notified of the cancellation via email and all payments received will be refunded in full.  If you have any queries regarding the refund, please contact our Accounts Officer.

Where can i give feedback on VATE's Professional Learning Events?

At each event feedback forms are distributed to delegates to complete and return to VATE Staff.  If you do not receive a feedback slip, please email feedback to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

I presented at a VATE event anD have not received any feedback

Depending on the size of the event it can take some time to collate the feedback and send this to presenters. If you are concerned please phone VATE to discuss.

How many participants will be in my workshop?

For hands-on workshop sessions we try to keep class sizes to 30 delegates. Some sessions will go up to 50 delegates if the presenter agrees that it will not effect the quality of the workshop.
